Symptoms & Error:
Desktop Client does not get upgraded to the newer version even after patches are placed on the PolicyServer.
If an automatic Client upgrade is not happening, We have to manually initiate the upgrade process.
Manual upgrade steps:
If an automatic Client upgrade is not happening, We have to manually initiate the upgrade process. Please find the below steps for the manual upgrade.
1. Right Click on the lock icon and click on "Check for updates.." in the System Tray.
This should initiate the download of the patches. Once the download is completed there will be a prompt to restart the machine.
2. Post Restart
The patches should be applied (4 patches at a time) after the restart.
For Eg. If there are a total of 8 patches that need to be applied to be upgraded from the current version to the newer version then you will require two restarts for all the patches to get applied
Common Error while performing the upgrade:
1.PolicyServer URL Not Reachable:
If the patches are not getting downloaded after you click on "Check for Updates..", kindly check that PolicyServer URL is accessible from the system. In order to upgrade the client, the patches are downloaded from the Policy Server and hence the URL should be accessible from the browser.
Contact your IT Team if the URL is inaccessible
2. Upgrade Service not Running.
If you see the above error when you click on Check for Update, kindly right-click on the red lock icon and run "Repair Installation".
3. While checking for updates, the patches are not getting downloaded. PS URL is accessible. Then try disabling the proxy settings of Seclore Desktop Client and then check for updates.
Steps: Go to system tray >> Seclore Lock Icon >> Proxy Settings >> Change Type to "None".
