Applies to: Desktop Client

Issue: Unable to see right-click Seclore-it, despite Seclore Client being installed.

Solution 1:

Check if Seclore Admin or Adminless Desktop Client is installed on the machine. If Adminless Client is installed, then uninstall it and reinstall Admin Desktop Client to view right-click Seclore-it.

To check whether Admin Client is installed or Adminless, follow the below instructions:

- Select "Windows key + R" and enter "%fsdccore%". This will take you to the installation path of Seclore Agent.

Path for Admin Client: C:\Program Files (x86)\Seclore\FileSecure\Desktop Client

Path for Adminless Client: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Seclore\FileSecure\Desktop Client

Solution 2:

If Admin Desktop Client installed, and you are still facing the issue, verify whether you are able to Seclore-it on the same machine through another user profile. If Seclore-it is visible and functioning on the same machine through another user profile, then reset the affected user profile and check the behaviour.

Steps to reset the user profile:

1. Sign in to the machine using affected user profile.

2. Go to C:\Users\ and rename the affected user profile folder as "_old".

3. Relogin to the machine with same user profile. Check if you are able to Seclore-it.

Solution 3:

Manually register DLLs responsible for context menu by running below commands:

  • regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Seclore\FileSecure\Desktop Client\X64\FSDCShellExt64.dll"
  • regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Seclore\FileSecure\Desktop Client\FSDCShellExt.dll

Run repair installation for Seclore and then confirm if the context menu is now available.
